On social media you have just a few seconds to catch someone’s attention. That is why it is becoming increasingly important for equestrian businesses to be present not only with photos, but with short, dynamic video content as well.
A well-made Instagram Reel or TikTok video does not have to be long. Its whole point is to convey something in a short time: a feeling, a moment, a story or a message.
What can you show in a short equestrian video?
Almost anything.
A horse’s character, a glimpse of a training session, the best moments of a competition, a new equestrian product, the atmosphere of a riding centre or the everyday life of an equestrian business.
The short format works especially well for content where movement and atmosphere matter.
A jump, a galloping horse, a moment from a competition or the daily life of a stable simply says far more in motion than in a single still image.
Not every video has to be the same
With social media content, it is worth using a variety of styles.
A video can be:
- fast and dynamic,
- cinematic and atmospheric,
- slow-motion,
- story-driven,
- trendy and fast-paced,
- or more personal, portrait-style.
The right style always depends on what you want to show and who you want to reach.
Why think in series?
On social media, the best results do not necessarily come from a single video. It can be worth creating several short pieces of content around one topic.
For a riding centre, for example, separate videos can be made about the horses, the training sessions, the surroundings, the riders and the day-to-day work.
This way, a single shoot can produce a complete equestrian social media content package.
A video really works when it tells a story on its own
A short video does not mean it deserves less attention.
Quite the opposite: in just a few seconds you have to find the images and moments that work most powerfully.
So my goal is not simply to make a short video, but to create content that stops the scroll, conveys the mood and stays memorable.
